Well, a lens sure can help, but for these exact photos, I might as well have used my standard lens or macro lens, and not my zoom. Sometimes it's too easy to say, "If I have that lens, my photos would look so much better". A great lens can help, but the true art is knowing how to use the camera, and adjust the settings - and I'm so so far from knowing my camera like that, even after having worked with the same one for about 4 years. Now I have no idea how you use a camera, but I can strongly recommend using the manual settings - if you're working with a DSLR. Working with manual settings can be a bit of a hassle, but once you get the hang of it, you'll see an entirely new world through the lens.

And sometimes a smaller tweak in Photoshop or Lightroom, or whatever people use, can make a good picture a great picture! :)

[...] I’ve been enjoying the past week in my hometown, and we’ve been blessed with all sorts of weather this easter – Sunny, snowy, cloudy .. Not rainy though, but I’m really looking forward to summer this year. It’s a bit fun to think about the fact, that just one year ago I was in the middle of my final project at school, still working as an intern, and awaiting response from Auckland University of Technology – regarding my application for a bach....
I'm sure it's a lens thing. I haven't figured it all out yet with that, but obviously it makes a huge difference. I try my best, and mostly I'm pleased with my photos, but there's a certain light over these ones.

Thank you dear! I'm not sure if I do anything specific - not that I'm aware of that is. However, I used a Canon EF 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 lens for these photos, and adjusted them a wee bit in Lightroom afterwards. :)
